Deep Water

Deep Water

Deep Water

//An outstretched hand

A boot moored in the sand

His contagious smile beckons

My torn heart He reckons

In a leap of faith, I jump

My hands clasped in His, over the bump

Where am I going? How long?

Questions bubble over in song

Despite my fear of the unknown

I can’t help escape a laugh & moan

An invitation to “put out into the deep”

To the places alone I’d never leap

He gently guides my rowing

Adds His strength to mine overflowing

The place HE motions me to stop

Is deep, dark, a terrifying drop

“My net is too weak & small,”

Out to Him I frantically call

He assuredly gazes at me so gently

Lifts and outstretches His net: strong, lengthy

“My daughter, trust you will receive

Abundantly will your reward be

Patience: be still in my Heart

Allow me to lead the catch, just do your part.”//
